Broncos, Raiders Full Game Recap

Thursday night, the Oakland Raiders hosted the Denver Broncos in the second meeting between the two AFC-West Rivals, Denver who won the first meeting between the two teams came into the game on a 7 game winning streak which started when the Broncos came back from a 24-0 second half deficit to win the game 36-24 in week 6 agaist San Diego.  The Raiders came into the game on a 5 game losing streak looking to get a much needed win as their season has seamingly begun to fall apart. 

In the first meeting between the teams the Broncos won 37-6. 

Thursday night the Broncos recieved the ball and preceeded to score on their opening drive when quarterback Peyton Manning threw a 6 yard pass to tight end joal Dreesen for the score with 10:35 left to play in the quarter. (Prater Kick Good)

The second score of the night also came from the Broncos on a 43 yard field goal from kicker Matt Prater with 5:15 left in the quarter. 

The first quarter was dominated by the Broncos as the Raiders only had the ball for 6 minutes seconds. 

As the second quarter began the Broncos scored for a third time on a 34 yard field goal from Matt Prater with 13:42 left to play in the half. 

The Raiders finally got back into the game with 2:06 left to play on a Darren McFadden 6 yard recpetion from quarterback Carson Palmer for the score. (Janikowski kick good) 

As the first half came to a close, it was the Broncos in the lead 13-7. 

The Raiders Stall On their first drive of the second half. 

The Broncos score with 7:31 left in the 3rd quarter on a 20 yard field goal from Matt Prater.

Von Miller forces a fumble (recovered by Unrein) with 6:00 minutes left in the third quarter leads to a Knowshon Moreno 1 yard touchdown run with 5:07 left in third quarter. (Prater kick good)

With :23 seconds to play in the third the Broncos scored again on a 33 yard field goal from Matt Prater. Prater is making the most out of his kicks after struggling the last few weeks. 

After 3 quarters of play the Broncos had a commanding lead over the Raiders (26-7)

The first score in the 4th quarter came on a 56 yard touchdown pass from Carson Palmer to Wide Receiver Darius Heyward-Bay. (2pt conversion no good) 5:36 left to play. 

Final: Broncos 26, Raiders 13

Broncos improve to 10-3, Raiders fall to 3-10

Top Performers

Passing: P. Manning (DEN) - 310 YDS, 1 TD, 1 INT

Rushing: K. Moreno (DEN) - 32 CAR, 119 YDS, 1 TD

Receiving: R. Streater (OAK) - 4 REC, 100 YDS

The Broncos extend their win streak to 8 games and go on too play the Baltimore Ravens next week. Raiders continue losing streak extending it to 6 games going on to play the Kansas City Chiefs.
